A designer and illustrator currently based in sunny Calgary, Canada. Working out of her home studio, and finding inspiration in impressionist art and colourful florals.
*Metaphorically of course, most hats actually look reaaaally bad on my tiny pea head.
OH HEY, LOVELY TO MEET YOU!
Born and raised by the mountains in Calgary, my heart longs for the ocean. I share my life with my lovely husband, who is the champ you’ll see following me around as I cry my way through art museums. I’m a huge softy and can typically be found roaming the house carrying my kindle with Hozier playing on vinyl.
While designing, you’ll catch me with my AirPods in, so your brand will either be crafted to smooth jazz, indie alternative, or One Direction. But I promise it’ll be beautiful and filled with love, no matter the soundtrack.
Although I’m very strategic behind the desk, I’m more of a “how hard can it be” kind of person in my off-hours. I think laughter and delight should infuse all areas of life, you’ll catch onto that pretty quick in our discovery call.
MY APPROACH
I jumped headfirst into the design world out of high school, so as someone without traditional art school training, I had to find my way quick. As a life-long creator and artist, I always found the human ability to connect with beautiful things fascinating.
I approach the beginning of all projects, personal or professional, with an “emotions first” attitude. In a harsh world where people are seen as mere numbers on the spreadsheet, I have the honour of working with clients that seek to build authentic connection with their audience.
An important part of my process, is that I stay true to all I’ve shared here about my love for the human experience. I am strictly anti-AI use and you won’t find it anywhere within my process. Everything from inspiration + concepts to brand strategy and mockups, is crafted by me, with your unique project in mind.
Having 7 years of experience under my belt, I love implementing strategy in a way that supports the emotion connection. This looks different for every client, but I love incorporating a handmade feel, illustrations, and elements that don’t feel stuffy or corporate to achieve branding and design that feels like a true extension of its owner.
Bringing your brand to life is important business, but my goal is to make it as exciting and easy-going as possible!
